I turned my full fuel screw one turn in, now the idle is high. I see wherethe idle screw is, but I can't get to it w/o taking off a fuel line. Ideas?

Take a long narrow punch. Loosen the nut. Then take a pair of needle nose pliers and turn the screw out. Then reset the nut with the punch.

Try to grab back away from the boss so it won't mess up the threads if you need to ever screw it back in.

When I modify a pump I always turn the screw around end for end. I then install the locking nut just behind the forward most boss. I use the long punch and tack hammer to loosen/tighten the locking nut and a pocket screw driver to turn the screw.

I slos hold the throttle to WOT position when I turn the screw w/ the small screw driver and when the screw is removed to turn it end for end, I polish the entire lenght of the threads to aid in turning it. They are painted from the factory. A bit of antisieze compound works well to protect the threads.

You can remove the screw with the pump on the engine. You will probably have to R&R the overflow valve/line.

I did mine a couple weeks ago, a real PITA. I took the fuel line bolt out, used a baggie tie to hold it down outta the way. Deep socket to break loose, 1/4 inch ratchet and socket with a driver bit to turn. I had to use my torch to burn the paint off the threads and heat the bosses to get it to turn. It was idling at 1100 after I turned in my fuel screw, I turned it almost a 1/4 inch to get back to 800. When it gets close you may have to put the line on a couple times to start it and check rpm. I had to re-do my throttle linkage to get enough play. Hope this helps. :)

I just did mine less than a week ago with an injector swap... here's the

easy way... get a deep socket metric (10 or 13mm I forget now)... put

the socket on the nut... then put the 1/4 drive rachet into the socket

and loosten... . then use a slotted screwdriver bit in a 1/4 socket with

a 1/4 inch drive of the 1/4 inch drive variety. (slotted bits like the ones

that come with one screwdriver with a magnet in the end to hold the bit)

you may have to use a short extension in the socket to the ratchet...

also, relieve pressure on the throttle spring to make finger loostening

easier... . it's a pain in the *** but, this is the easiest way that I have

found to do it.
