My Ecodiesel has had a coolant leak that has gotten worse. It is a very common problem. Turbo coolant line fails and leaks. It takes considerable time to change the hose. It is located at the rear of the V near the turbo. Dorman makes an updated part to fix the poor factory design. Some people use high heat silicone hose to repair as well.

Here is a video explaining how to fix.

Nice video showing the problem but they stop short of the actual repair. Even on the engine stand the water pipes are very difficult to remove. That is not a fun job by any stretch. He also didn't mention how difficult the intake manifold and the intake pipe is to remove, especially in the vehicle. More than a few intakes got ruined by hacks that just tried to muscle them out.

I’m still waiting on intake gasket to complete repair. A guy needs several trucks nowadays to stay mobile.

What size silicone hose did you use?

I just finished repairing my turbo coolant line. I used the blue high temp silicone hose. Since the intake was really crudded up I replace it and all new fuel lines. Got it all back together and she runs great, hopefully I’ll get another 150k out of her.
