A possible solution

I may have a possible solution. I just received my new Comp from Edge this week and I installed it over my noon hour and went and picked up a load of sand. The truck did not sputter at all.

Note: my new Comp had a built date of early February; my previous Comp that caused all of the bucking was built March 22nd. So I wonder if something got screwed up with the new Comp programming. I will be e-mail this info to Edge as soon as I do some more test to make sure it does not buck in level one anymore.

I will let everyone know tomorrow for sure if the older Comp solved my problems.

Let me know if you get it sorted out. I would like to take a ride in someone's rig with the Comp installed. I go out your way often.

You are welcome anytime. Just e-mail me for my cell number.

Later,

Eric

I'm heading up to Edge first thing in the morning. We're going to hook up the computer to see if we can tell what is causing the problem. I'll post my findings tomorrow.

Here's the update.

I went up and talked with Aaron at Edge and we tried a couple of different Comps. I got a new box and everything seems fine now. No wiring changes just a new box.

:)

MGardiner<

Did AAron hook you up to the laptop? I talked to him the other day and he said for me to come out and hook up. I live about 900

miles from them:( I have a new box on its way with a wiring harness. Hope it works for me. Did you always buck on level one? Mine seems to be an intermittent problem. Never know when it will happen. Greg

He actually had a couple of boxes waiting for me when I showed up so we just tried the new boxes and it solved the problem.

Mine would always buck and spew smoke on level one. It was at the very beginning while giving it fuel. It didn't seem to happen at higher RPMs. The other levels were fine as well.

I'm pretty sure the box he's sending you will solve the problem.

I just installed some 275s today and it runs great. For me the comp and 275s are the perfect combo, especially for towing. I thought about going to DDIIs but I was worried about hight EGTs while towing in the mountainous areas.

Got the box today (third one) Well everything was fine til I did a few 5x5 passes. That is when I went back to 1x5. It started to stumble as soon as I gave it a little throttle. So now I guess I will send them both back and ask for a full refund. This su*ks.....

my latest

Well, the latest Comp I got from Edge is working great MOST of the time. I can run on level one MOST of the time without bucking. Every one in a while, it still does. I am going to keep testing and let everyone know.

My edge comp stumbles on level four and more so on level five. It worked great for several months before the stumble started. I have not checked fuel pressure yet, anything else I should check? I have a blue chip cover, and like I said the thing worked great for a few months. thanks

Just to keep you informed:

I purchased a Comp a few weeks ago. When I first installed it it bucked on 1X5. I ran it a little more and it went away.

Then at the Dyno run this weekend when I ran 1X5 and 3X5, I got erratic torque readings. It looked like my truck was in V-fib. When I ran it on 5X5, around 2600 it started popping. Someone watching the back said it looked like my truck was trying to send smoke signals  Tried it again on 4X5, same thing.

I was #@$%!

I then ran with the box off. With just injectors the torque readings were pretty smooth. I then ran someone elses box (Thanx JES) and it pulled right up through 5X5 with no popping.

Pulled 380rwhp and 805 lbs torque. Oo.

I called Edge on Monday and a new Comp is in the mail. Lets hope they get this taken care of SOON!

Chipstien,

I have run the UFM, Twice. Then the edge Comp box. The Edge box bucks more often than the UFM. I have been some kind of test dummbie. They sent me a bad box last time just to check it. I have had it for three weeks. They could have sent two, a good one and a bad one. I have ordered the UFH Drag box and it was supposed to be sent on Thursday. Called yesterday and it still hasn't been sent. I keep getting an excuse about the new Chevy program is taking up all of their time. I talked to the vendor and he is real cool about it. Very appologetic. I just want to know that this is going to be cured. I am ready to go back to the Van AAken and a boost module.

Me Too

I am a little late here, but I too have the stustustustutter on level one. It's only on 1 and subs don't matter and it also seems to happen more after doing a 5X5 run then back to 1 and as soon as I touch the gas:{ So I just bump it up to 2, but still not the way it's supposed to work. I will be curious to see what edge does with this. I agree, they are a great company and I will hang tight and let them figure this out. Besides, once my shafts and B-1 get here(tomorrow) come monday it will be 5X5 24/7:D Oo. :D

Driving around on that setting daily (24/7) will make short order of your transmission. You'll be at low throttle pressure, with a whole bunch of torque. It would be fine if you were at WOT all the time, but idling around? ouch

Geez, really hate to hear of all of these studdering problems.

I just sold the Blue-box and WAS going to sell the Van Aaken and pick up an edge comp.

Now... Im starting to wish I kept the Blue-box. It always had a smooth delivery & made nice power. Never did studder.

Hmmmm. Guess Ill just have to hold off on that purchase... and see if Edge takes care of the boys that have already PAID, or spends their time on the duracrak.

Hmmmm

Kat-

Good point, I guess it's gonna have to be WOT:D People over here need the excitement anyways. But I suppose I SHOULD keep that in mind since it's mostly stop and go around here. Thanks for the heads up

Keep your hopes up guys. I have been assured that the new box has the issue cleared up. I will have mine tomorrow,,, Maybe.

I will post asap. with results. If this one is junk, they can have them all back. I don't even care if I get a refund. I will post everything. By the way, this new box is the DD UFM Drag. . WhooooHHHHHHHooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

blue chip cover and comp combo ?

My comp still has a stumble in 4 and 5, yesterday on 2x5 it set a code under full throttle. I am beggining to wonder if by tapping the wire instead of using the cover if it would improve. How many of you guys with the 4 and 5 stumble are using the blue chip pump cover ? Just a thought.

Brett

I had bought a blue chip cover. When I saw what a cheezzzzie set up it was I threw it on the bench and it has set there since. Travel to the dark side and tap that wire...
