Ok,would the edge comp box off of my 01 H. O. six speed work on a automatic truck of the same year? thinkin bout getting a automatic truck and was hopeing to keep some of the goodies off of my current ride.

Can't see why not? Just make sure you get all the stuff that came with it. Try calling Edge, they'll know for sure.

The Edge Comp for 2001 will work on either the automatic or manual. It will not, however, fit any year other than 2001. 2001 and 2002 each had their own specific wiring harness. I read on the edge website one time, i think, that the standard output cummins actually show better response to the comp than the HO does. I would think if you like the performance on your HO you won't be disappointed with the SO and auto.

Here's a better ? Was gonna put a comp from a 2001 on my truck, what I thought is a 2001, but the mechanic told me that I have a 2000? WHAT? a 2000, on the door tag it shows 05/2000, but then he said that I may have a map sensor from a 2001? im all messed up:( any ideas? what comp do I get or can i even do it?

I put the HTB2 on w/ez (set on jumper #1) and EDM2's runs great but the stock turbo was way higher pitched and louder. Is there really anything to gain by swapping out the EZ for a Comp (besides maybe needing a new clutch or the fear of needing a new VP)?

It sounds to me that you would need the comp to fit a 98. 5 - 2000, rather than the 2001. Check your current EZ and see what model number it is. If it ends in A it should be for the 2001, and B is for 2002. If there is no letter after the model then it fits 98. 5-2000. As for the advantages of Comp over EZ, they are numerous. The big one being that the comp gives 5 levels instead of 3 which means more power, up to 120 HP and 250 TQ if I recall correctly. Plus you can adjust the fueling sublevels for each of the comp's level without having to change jumpers or anything like that. If you go with the drag comp, you gain some extra power by having the chip continue to add fuel all the way to redline rather than defueling at 2700 RPM like the standard comp.
