Let me tell you a story....

ATS stand alone controller?

I am wanting to upgrade my Comp to the Drag Comp...

What difference will I see? I am having a hard time finding info on the Drag program. Do they have any other programs? I want more power from this box.

Thanks, CJ

It doesn't make more power, just doesn't defuel on 5x5. More power? Not from the box, it's time for bigger injectors and turbo.

We love the slope of slipperiness

Boondocker said it, the normal Comp defuels at 2700 and the drag will fuel all the way to redline but if I remember right only on 5x5 will it do that.

Since it doesn't defuel at 2700RPM it will obviously feel more powerful on the top end than what you're use to now. I used a Drag version for a few days and you can definitely tell the difference on top because with the regular version, I was use to it nose diving around 2700, but the Drag just kept on pulling all the way to redline. It also shaved . 4 off my quarter mile times. :D

TGibbs... . How much of a difference did the RAD make? I'm looking to pick one up this spring.

I was hoping it would keep it from defueling in 1st gear.

My truck does the romp... romp... romp... then full power once I am past like 2700rpm while in 1st gear.

That is the torque management that you are feeling. The ECM will defuel once the boost gets above a certain value (it's about 22psi on my truck), when it is in 1st or 2nd gear. BD makes a RAD (racer anti-defueler), that overrides this. When the RAD is on, the guages won't work, though, so it's not really good for street use. :D It dropped the E. T. by about . 7 at the dragstrip though. Oo.

As a suggestion though... If you don't have billet shafts, I would let it keep de-fueling...

I agree with paul on the billet inputs. I am cruising on just a VB and a TC and have used the RAD once in an actual "stage it to 13 psi boost" race. I am going to race it once on New Years but other than that I will save all that power till I get a full transmission. Them the %&it is hitting the fan!! :D

I will be getting a full trans upgrade after the soon after the first of the year.

But you guys that have tried it like it? Does it stay pluged in all the time and operate on a switch or what?

Thanks, CJ

There is a switch to turn it off and on. IIRC even when it is off it defeats the speed limiter. For the torque limiter it needs to be on, which the gauges stop working then. You can turn it back off, once you are in third gear, if you want to watch the gauges...
