I was towing last weekend and just about any hill I pulled the engine got real loud and sounded like the fuel pattern was "spitting". My egt's were hotter than normal by around 100 degrees (1100 to 1200). Sometimes I had to back off which I never had to do before towing my RV at only 7500lbs. The other thing I noticed was I managed 22-23lbs boost but the needle was shaking like crazy at and above 10lbs? Finally I pulled over and disconnected the Edge. To my surprise it pulled stronger. Egt's were in check, however, the boost needle was still shaking a little after 10lbs. The other thing I noticed was max boost at 22-23lbs. Huh? Same as with edge plugged in and I thought stock should be around 18-19lbs? Anyway, is it possible the truck has upgraded injectors which I don't know about? Help me out please with some ideas on these issues. Thanks.

set to stock, without the j-hook, my truck will hit 22-23#s boost no problem.

I say you have something else going on, not the Edge.

I figure the reason I'm still getting 22-23lbs of boost is because of the boost elbow even though the edge ez is disconnected. Still looking for any ideas about the boost needle shaking after 10lbs of boost. Possible boost leak somewhere?

with a boost elbow and no boost fooler you may be getting some defueling around 20 lbs of boost. you may want to use some dielectric grease in the MAP sensor plugs to keep corrosion at bay.

Plugged the EZ back in yesterday and it seems to be fine now. Guess it was all my imagination. We get to know our trucks and the sounds they make so intimately that if something is off an octave we freak out. Will try the needle valve to deaden the bounce though.
