I'm going to yellow stone this summer with my 05 it has no cat on it should I put one back on it ?

I don't think I would worry about an issue on the road at this point and I certainly didn't want to scare anyone. Dependent on what your local inspection laws are, I wouldn't be surprised if you would end up having to put it back on at some point in order to pass.

I sold my 05 Ram 3500, but kept my BullyDog tuner. The last setting on the 05 was Tow, which I believe is a one step boost in power, there are 3 power settings above stock which you can choose from on the fly if you've uploaded the program to the ECM. When I took the BD out of that truck it was permanently set to the BD Tow power setting until someone else flashes the ECM.

I had to pay Bully-Dog $100 to reset the tuner so that I can use it as a monitor on my new truck, even though I have no intention of flashing the ECM with the modified tunes.

My truck makes plenty of torque and power so I see no need to modify the ECM. I do like the telemetry data and the driving coach though.

Up north here in the winter some guys plug there DPF quite easily. If they want to continue to run they have to delete or get a gas truck. I have heard rumours of some class 8 trucks being fine big $ at scales but we don't have emission testing here yet. Most old farm trucks/tractors wouldn't pass. My '03 will be kept around for a long time. I'll have to get another truck just to drive when I'm not towing I guess. They are stimulating the economy that way I guess. More government jobs and more fines.

I hope you were making a sarcastic comment. Fines and more government jobs don't stimulate the economy, both take money out of the economy and decrease economic growth.

As per usual I am frustrated with shortsighted ill educated governments. We are lucky here in Saskatchewan and in Canada for that matter in that we have a business minded government. They are shrinking government and eliminating red tape for the most part. When will common sense prevail? Hopefully all the left wing loony earth muffins flew south so they could lounge around in their Birkenstocks.

I delivered a lot of travel trailers into Alberta and Saskatchewan several years ago when I was transporting. I had the opportunity to talk with a few locals in both provinces. I was pleased to learn that they were very conservative as I am.

In a settlement with the United States on behalf of the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, automotive electronics manufacturer Edge Products LLC (Edge) has agreed to pay a $500,000 civil penalty for manufacturing and selling electronic devices that allowed owners of model year 2007 and later diesel pickup trucks to remove emission controls from their vehicles.

This software said this message was too short so I added this sentence.

It has been illegal to tamper with, disable, or remove emissions equipment for many years. I can't speak to why EPA has so far only targeted EDGE Products but the fact that '06 and earlier were not mentioned in the settlement article does not mean EPA is overlooking modification of earlier trucks. If a car or truck was OEM equipped with EGRs, cat converters, or other purchase price increasing, performance robbing, fuel wasting government mandated crap it is still covered by threats of heavy fines, etc.

Pre 2007 not effected? You can make them roll coal too with electronics.

"Rolling coal" is one of the things that has brought Edge and others in the diesel performance industry into the EPA's gunsights. :{ Just like my dear old Mom tried to teach me many decades ago - actions have consequences, and irresponsible actions have unpleasant consequences.
