When dropping fuel they would sit off to the side with Bino's and watch you drop fuel, if you didnt follow procedures the fine started at 10K for the driver and never again would the driver pull a hazmat load. The company started a 100K and went up depending on how many infractions it had. I dont think their sense of humor has changed much.

I am interested to see what level of enforcement the EPA goes in the future. Right now, they are at the company level. I guess time will tell how it all trickles down to the end user.

Several years ago, when fuel prices first spiked, it was fairly well known that some of the local owner/operators began running red fuel to cut costs. This went on for a little while until low and behold, the state started dipping tanks and passing out what has been rumored to have been $10K+ fines to these drivers/companies. Is it going to happen with the EPA and these deleted trucks, maybe... ... maybe not. But, I wouldn't want to be the one that they make the example out of.

Its just like gasoline cars were in the early 80s; the EPA started cracking down and all the yahoos that had straight piped their Camaros and Mustangs had to spend some money replacing it before they could license their cars. The aftermarket adapted to CARBs rules and started getting EO (Executive Order) numbers for their wares and survived. The process is not perfect, but at least there is a process.

Hopefully the diesel aftermarket will make a quick jump to marketing LEGAL modifications/packages with EO numbers. Then we can still add a few ponies or some efficiency with parts that are proven not to add any pollution. Downside is it will cost more $$$.

It's not JUST THE CURRENT CORRUPT admin. its been going on sense the time I was in high school and took the smog control off the 66 Malibu 327CID engine with smog pump I had, and im sure that OTHER CORRUPT BUTT HEAD'S from the OTHER SIDE of CORRUPTION were in office sense then

Need I bring up That the EPA IS NEEDED, I remember a river in the 1980s in Detroit was on fire from all the pollution, it burned for over a month, how about LA and other large cities smog issues, how about O Zone warnings? And can you say Global Warming? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see our weather has changed world wide. Its great we can add power to our trucks but lets do it without messing up our children's future! Nixon started the EPA in the mid 1970s and yes it can be a tyrant, but its either pay a little now and keep it clean or buy o2 later!

But most of the examples you posted are not facts. Ozone is bs and global warming is a monstrous fraud. The weather is cyclical. It is always changing in short, medium, and long cycles with infinite daily variations in every location on the earth.

I am not an expert on this topic, but I do believe that there are not enough facts and/or evidence to say with absolute certainty that global warming (or any global climate/ temperature change) is caused by mankind.



One has to be very self-centered to think that mankind is so omnipotent to have that much power. At one time humanity was so self centered to believe that the sun revolved around the earth.

I have seen old photos as many of us have of the terrible drought that occured here in the area where I live, farther north in the TX Panhandle, in Oklahoma, and probably much of the middle-west back in the 1930s. The area was known as the dust bowl. Lack of rain, and excessive heat destroyed crops and the winds blew farm dirt up into massive drifts like windblown snow up north. People abandoned their small subsistence farms and moved. A lesser drought occurred again in the 1950s and we are experiencing another similar weather pattern right now. We had good rains through 2010 but have been in a drought since 2011 began. Farm state agriculture experts like at Texas A&M have taught farmers better land conservation techniques lessening some of the worst extremes but the same weather is still with us. Weather occurs in cycles.

I also remember very clearly the parents of the same leftists or the original ones still hanging around and peddling the same tired lies told us of global cooling in the '70s and caused major economic damage with EPA mandates such as elimination of refrigerant R-12 to be replaced with less efficient R-134.

Leftist are causing the problems with their misinterpretations of ordinary weather events and their lying about it to line their pockets with taxpayer money.

The river caught on fire because someone was dumping gasoline in the river. The same will happen if you dump gas in a bucket and throw a match in it. But man caused global warming is quite a stretch and bs. if you're still worried about it and want to do something about it, do what I do. Take an ice cube out of your freezer once a week and throw it in the back yard.

I've lived in SoCal for 63 yrs. Thanks in part to automobile emission controls the air's as clean as I can remember it. We used to get bombarded by LA during inversions.

EFI and the catalytic converter drastically reduced emissions,smoothed idle and increased mileage once it was perfected.

I'm hoping diesel emission controls are in their infancy.

If you and anyone else believe global warming and O Zone is just part of the Earth's natural cycle you are wrong! It's not as bad as Al Gore claims to be but it IS happening. I have been involved in several research projects including going to the Arctic Circle to pull cores. Scientists (that's real people with real educations Hbarlow) . Through this scientific research that is NOT funded by oil companies we can see back tens of thousands of years with fossil records and ice core samples to see how the Earth has changed. Currently our Co2 levels higher than its been in almost 100000 years. Unlike ALL previous Co2 levels ours is increasing because of Human population and CAN BE CHANGED and the damage of our Eco system can be stopped and even reversed with action now!
If that's not enough for you to make changes here is a couple of little facts, Google them if you like they are empirical facts (that means there is REAL evidence Hbarlow).
FACT: Autism rate has gone up 20 times what it was 20 years ago and the percentage is considerably higher in larger industrial towns.
FACT: Cancer is exploding; look at the big business getting into it, some rates of increase is up 126%. Survival rates are much higher now though, I live with CML (leukemia) myself.
FACT: other types of genetic damage on the increase.
FACT: life expectancy has gone DOWN in the USA, mostly due to diet, but there are some Environmental issues too.
Fact: the river in Detroit on fire was NOT from gasoline but pollution, I WAS THERE! I also looked online there were 4 rivers that caught fire just in Michigan alone from pollution
So to sum it up, the human race IS SCREWING up the planet and there is NO WHERE to run to get away from it. So either clean up our act, or pass on a green and healthy Earth to our children or ?????
Why do I know all this, simple BEEN THERE DONE THAT got the T shirt! I am a social studies teacher who keeps informed and stays involved trying to change things for the better. Yea I am a gun owning Republican who is a disabled Vet too, but that's normal here in the South.

So how about it, is what the EPA really that bad? I hope they do more like required vehicle inspections for both pollution and safety Nationwide. South Carolina nothing is done or enforced by the EPA.
