I would not say the entire country has turned its back on God, you get a big fight from us in the Bible belt. But I would agree 100% that many loud and powerful people would like everyone to think that, hoping the rest of lie down and give up on the Lord. We know he is all powerful and need to let his word sing out loud coast to coast!
As for the prayer,
thanks and back at you

Anybody got a used Smarty Jr for sale? :) Never got around to buying one. Like ammo, now I want it! The lack of wisdom and moral character peeling this nation apart is a God-sized problem. Sin is on both sides of the issue, whether intellectual pride, greed, selfishness, covetousness, fear, false gods... on and on. I ride my bicycle 3 times a week and sprint hills (yep, I'm 63 with lots of grandkids to wrestle) and I can tell you when a carburetor goes by me... and on a hill it sucks. I really appreciate clean cars... but hate the mileage drop we got in the process. What was that about? I remember hanging a vacuum gage on the dash of a 63 SS with a 365hp 327 and getting 21 mpg overall on a run to the Winternationals. Good mpg should follow lower pollution. Who does not like a clean world? That is not the issue to me... it is the sin that permeates industry and government. I can buck industry with taking my wallet elsewhere. It has a self-cleansing action. But when government takes a new level of power and monopoly in the market place there is an all consuming fire taking place. They got the infinite printing press, the lawyers, the badges and guns and jail cells... how do you fight that? Anybody got a used Smarty Jr? :)

Fact: the river in Detroit on fire was NOT from gasoline but pollution
You are correct. It was pollution. SOMEONE WAS DUMPING GASOLINE in the river. Dumping gasoline into a river is considered polluting the river where I come from.

Its great we can add power to our trucks but lets do it without messing up our children's future

Where Does the Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?

Professor Ian Plimer could not have said it better!

If you've read his book you will agree, this is a good summary.

PLIMER: "Okay, here's the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland . Since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet - all of you.

Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress - it’s that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life.

I know... . it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of

your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad,

Nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10. 00 light bulbs..... well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days.

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes, FOUR DAYS - by that volcano in Iceland has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time - EVERY DAY.

I don't really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.

Yes, folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over

One year - think about it.

Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which

keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.

And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the brush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.

Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the bogus 'human-caused' climate-change scenario.

Hey, isn’t it interesting how they don’t mention 'Global Warming'

Anymore, but just 'Climate Change' - you know why?

It’s because the planet has COOLED by 0. 7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull artists got caught with their pants down.

I think this is the best thread I've read in a long time.

I concur, global warming, carbon footprint, etc is a huge scam.

The country does need God's guidance.

What is the point of rolling coal? What a waste of energy. Might as well pour 5 gallons of fuel on the ground at each fill up.

Drag racing & pulling are both forms of competitive exhibition. I can justify that in my mind. What I was referring to is the guys performing mosquito abatement on the street because they think its cool to blow smoke.

Looks like the resale value of my 2004 might be climbing. It came factory with no cat or egr.

My 2004.5 has [had] a CAT. It's still safe in the garage attic. I was thinking of cashing in on the platinum, maybe wait a while?

Thank god! Finally someone who can see the trees beyond the forest! Do you know how many people argue that I am full of it when I tell them the "all natural campfire" probably emitted about as much pollution as me pulling my trailer to the campsite and they look at me as if I were from another planet... The other fun one is the people sitting around the campfire whining about radiation from their phones and I am like hey you know that fire your sitting around??? But hey we have to employ stupid people whether we like it or not right? Thank you all for some entertaining reading

Finally glad to hear something like this happening. My diesel trucks came stock and stock they remain. And, as a motorcycle rider, I am sick and tired of pulling up behind a diesel truck at a red light, only to have him "smoke me up" when the light turns green. Marbles can break windows and there is no evidence left behind!!!

Oh believe me ~ indeed they do fine a lot of those Harley riders who opt to blow out windows with those loud pipes. I prefer to just run with the stock exhaust. Different strokes for different folks.

Some people like to mod their rides for more power..... different strokes like you said

I just rebuilt an 86 diesel Trooper, bone stock. I think I will get a custom license plate and call it STINKY. Embarrassing but 1986 standards. After rings set I hope it cleans up a little.

Hang onto it. EPA emissions coming to your state if the current administration has it's way.

With my Truck ~ no engine mods at this time and probably not until the warranty/extended warranty runs out. However by that time I'll either be dead or have gone through two or three more new diesel trucks. With my Harley. The mods on it were dual cams, S&S gears, a racing kit done by downloading software and is not legal. Changed wheels, tires, seat, saddle bags, installed a complete chrome front end on it and put an additional $4,000 into all the chrome I could bolt to it. Put engine temp, battery and oil temp gauges on it, changed all the front lights on it, put red turn signals on the back for which I received a warning ticket, etc. I "tried" a new exhaust system on it. Even though it had baffles in it, I could drive through parking lots and set off car alarms. Finally realized that may have been cool for others but I wanted to be able to hear as I got older. OH, I did mod my truck today. Put a new over the rail, black diamond, powder coated tool box on. Color of my truck is a Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl Coat. So instead of going with the traditional chrome, I am going with all exterior black accessories. Tool box, black powder coated brush guard, black wheels, black extension on the end of the exhaust pipe. Black tinted windows, black bug guard, black window shade vents for all four door windows, just ordered an all black grille which includes the black Rams Head. Ordered the two black air intake, powder coated screens. Have all black leather interior with A/C and heated seats. Going to install small LED blue lights inside the cab. I detail my own vehicles so I put what is called VRT on all the tires that I ordered from Adam's Wax. It does not have that bright shine on them. Just keeps them looking like brand new tires. I use this on all my vehicles including my travel trailer tires. The UV protection it has in it is fantastic and once put on you can wash and scrub on them but it takes about 4-6 months before you have to re-do them. Where there is any rubber or metal that is black, inside the engine bay, after I wash the entire engine, I spray this product on and it repells a lot of dust and dirt, keeping your engine looking like new. Have the black Line-X spray in bed liner. Black rail and tail gate covers. Debating if I want to install an all black cold air intake system on it. Had them on other trucks but really didn't see much difference in mileage.

Taking the truck to the dealer tomorrow, late afternoon and leave it there so it will be the first one to go to the mechanics on the 7th for this dead pedal issue, clunking transmission, poor mileage, pulling to the left and way to much of the "up and down" bouncing while pulling my t/trailer which only weighs in at 9,000 lbs. The dealer will come up with some lame excuse like I don't have a good enough hitch on it or I don't know how to properly hook it up, or I have the inside weight improperly placed around. Going to install air bags on it with dual gauges in the cab. Drove it today, for the first time in well over a week. Went about two miles, stopped at a stop sign and it happened ~ dead pedal. Also happened when a traffic light turned green and I went to pull out. The guy behind me came within a couple of feet of having the rear Rams Head implanted on his hood. So this time, instead of sitting there all red faced, when I got power back, I motioned for the guy behind me to stop. He did. I told him about the dead pedal problem and asked him if he would quickly write a note stating my truck just appeared to have the engine shut down. He did this, giving me his name, address and phone #. This is information that the service manager/Chrysler is going to get and when it happens again, unless they figure the problem out when I take the truck in, I am again going to motion for the drivers to pull over and have him or her write down the same info - date, time, place, intersection, etc. Just an FYI but when I filed my claim against the dealer and Chrysler, the customer service rep asked me to keep a log in the truck so I could write the dates, times and places this happens in the future. If that isn't good enough then perhaps I'll send him pictures of the truck IF it gets T-Boned and is on the tow truck.

I'm sorry if this reply ends up in the wrong place. My computer is doing everything it shouldn't be doing. No, I don't have a virus, it just keeps bouncing me all over the place. Time to switch over to computer #2 or 3 or my new tablet. :>(

The whole idea that it doesn't matter about the amount of pollution our trucks produce because of a volcano or other natural event is ridicules. The earth has gone though many different cycles over billions of years in a delicate balance. Humans in the last 150 years has done enormous damage to the planet and its natural resources and is responsible for the extinction of thousands of plant and animal species. How far do we have to rock the boat that to disrupt that delicate balance that has allowed the planet to recover from natural events? Can Earth recover from both natural disasters and human destruction and still support life? We must conserve and use wisely the natural resources that we still have left and protect the environment for future generations. I love to have fun too, but not at my children’s expense.
more than 2 cents, but none the less true.
