I use an ODB-II Bluetooth adapter and an Android tablet with the Torque Pro app to watch for regen's

I have a PID to see when it is about to go into a regen, I got this from someone else... (Added to Torque Pro as a custom PID)

Name : DPF: Status

Short Name : DPF Status

Mode and PID : 018B

Equation : (C*100)/255

Min Value : 0

Max Value : 100

Units : %

Header : Auto

And I use the built-in EGT monitors in Torque Pro - 1 thru 4

The EGT's are for 1) DOC In, 2) DOC Out, 3) DPF Out, 4) Cat Conv
and there is one more for Cat Conv Out but I don't display it - don't care

When the status hits 100%, I see EGT's go up and can watch the regen. So far, when it has started the regen, I get on the highway and run it til the EGT's start coming down. At that time, I see the DPF status has dropped to about 25%

$8 for the adapter, $5 tor the App, I already had the tablet, and $30 (or so) for a tablet mount in the truck

I added the EGT probe. It's easy to do! The temps may surprise you. My temps on level ground run about 850* and on a hill as high as 1380* not towing.

I use the EGT1 and EGT2 on my Edge, normally the temps are pretty close, but when in regen, the EGT2 climbs over 1000. Also the smell is a dead give away.
