I just installed it and have towed about 1700 miles with it. I am not impressed so far, but Im still adjusting the limits. So I need to learn a little more about it before I can say for sure. I towed through Denver to Las Vegas yesterday and the egt was running real high and i didnt have the power that i thought that i would.off topic, but how do you like the edge? cheers comrade!
I set the edge to defuel at 1250, but it would spike as high as 1390 and constant at 1300. I was heading west from Denver to Vegas. Lots of up and down hills. I never monitored the egt without the edge so i dont know what is outside of cummins limits. My RV weighs 15500#.I have been as high as 1450F when I was in regeneration mode with my truck when towing on flat land. These trucks have a higher EGT limit now do to regeneration of the DPF and emission compliance requirements.
With my set up now I tend to keep my EGT's below 1250F when towing and Boost pressure to a maximum of 35PSI. When I am not towing the EGT's could be as high as 1000F and Boost pressure between 10 and 15PSI depending on speed and RPM's of the engine.
I'm monitoring at the manifold, pre-turboWhich one of the available EGT readings are you monitoring? I monitor the post turbo on my Edge.
