I am in need of experienced opinions as far as tuners and/or programmers. I own a 2006 3500 5. 9 auto trans 3. 74 rear dually. I'm looking at the "Edge Evolution CTS Diesel" or "Smarty Jr" with "Edge Insight CTS" or any other suggestions. Truck is stock except for intake and 5" exhaust. Also reliable 2 or 3 micron fuel filter setup.
I tow a 12,000 # toy hauler on occasion

Thanks in advance
Steve

I run the Smarty Sr SO-6. Haven't played with all the settings but it really helps me with codes. And to tell you what I have it set on, I would have to hook its up to find out. Be gentle unless you have done some trans work, it'll let you know real qiuck if you haven't. But in my opinion go with Smarty

Forgot to ansewr your second question. I have the FASS 150 on mine. Its been on there for about 6 years now and have not had a bit of trouble, And I get my filters thru Geno's

from what i hear EDGE is not allowed to sell anymore, big lawsuit thing going... ... ... . I would not go with them anymore for now

If it is stock, like mine, I have the smarty jr set at tow mode. Flat highway in NV, CA, OR areas I can get up to 24mpg and basically driving 65mph. I have the 2003 5. 9 and 285 tires that I recalibrated with the smarty and dialed in with my gps to ensure the speed is dead on. Towing my light 5000lb trailer recently in the NorCal Mountains, CA redwood coast so a lot of up and down I was getting 13-14mpg without any effort to try to save fuel :) with my foot. My govn solenoid just went out at 169K which many have told me is awesome in the sense that they go out earlier in many cases AND I like the fact for smoging and in the past, warrenty, that the smarty jr returned my settings back to stock and they could not detect it.

I guess is you are going to modify your transmission, etc and don't care about mileage then all the other options out there might need to be considered for your preferences but I have not even tried the 100hp setting yet as the 70hp towing mode is more than enough.
