Finally got the oppourtunity last night with the help of a neighbor to install the the set of EGR Kevlar pads and SS front brake lines last night. Glenn is a good guy- since he is close enough I went out and picked them up in person.
I didn't have the $$$ to go with the crossdrilled/slotted rotors, which are in the nighborhood of three bills a piece:--) :{ And still have some life left on my OEMs. The install was real straightforward and the pads seem to have a firmer earlier grab. I was using NAPA pads before, nothing special. The steel lines to the front do have some room for improvement, IMHO. There is no place to attach the ABS sensor sending wires as there is with the OEM lines, and they seem to be a tad shorter in length too. On the drivers side there is a protective spring for abrasion , but nothing on the passenger side, where it rubs in the same area, against the shock. Not much mind you, but enough that I'm going to put something there to help it out. I just tywraped the ABS sending wire for now, maybe I'll come up with a better solution soon. Anyone else come accross these concerns??
I also bought the rear drum kit, including the new spring kit, shoes, and adjusters (and SS line of course) but didn't have a chance yet to install them. Maybe tomorrow night. Since I know my rears are WAY
out of adjustment, I can't really say how much better the braking ability is until they are done... ... ... ... . I'll let you know.
