MPGs seem to be going up. MPGs are not going below 19 even in town after 3 days of driving it normally (i. e. no eggshell on the go pedal)

Can better MPG really be this easy? Where can I find the connector to do this "Free" Mod? I have several nice pictures to place over the CEL... . lol:-laf

Unplug the brown connector to the EGR valve on the intake side of the engine. Just got 18. 6 MPG on a interstate trip to Columbia, SC, rolling hills, and that has never been seen before in my dually!

I just un-pluged mine, will see how it does over the next couple weeks.

Keep careful MPG records and let us know. Be sure to plug it back in before you go to the dealer. The DTC for low voltage EGR circuit will remain in the ECM until cleared.

Unplugged mine, cant tell the difference except for the yellow light on the dash, and the damn ding everytime i start her up

dash mpg is going up, waiting to fill up to do a calc

Black tap works great over the CEL. But it is h__l to remove the glue when you fix the problem for good. I know.

I'm waitimg for this weekend (Sun-Mon for me) to pull the TT out to the forest and see what king of mileage I get. Hopefully we won't encounter any epic fires like the rest of the state.

Filled up tank today after mostly city driving and showing no love on the pedal. Hand calculated at 13. 9; lie 'o meter showed 16. 4 average

Disable the Evil Hose!

Drove to Jacksonville NC from Greenville SC via Fayetteville, NC. 373 miles driven and gallons used 19. 1, so MPG was 19. 5 (overhead display said 22. 3). Last time I drove this route I got 14. 5 MPG so a 5 MPG increase was realized by Unplugging the EGR!

I've noticed one problem with the unpluging of the EGR.

I have a Laramie with the remote start. Activate the remote start, it fires right up, runs a few seconds and dies.

Returned to Greenville from Jacksonville, NC via Raleigh. Had about half an hour of stop n go driving in a construction zone, plus the elevation gain is about 1000 feet. Got 17. 4 mpg which is plus 3 mpg over the old EGR plugged mileage. Now over 30K miles that equates to roughly 370 less gallons of fuel consumed. That means I will have an extra $1400 annually in my pocket by making a free mod to my truck. Unplug your EGR for free savings! Ignore the CEL and plug it back in before making a visit to the dealer.

any new findings/problems with the "free mod"? how is everyone doing with some more miles on the unplugged egr?. . thanks

I went all the way and deleted everything so there's some money to pay back, but an increase of about 5MPG highway means it will happen in about 3 months.

I haven't put enough miles on yet, only half a tank. I saw 12MPG pulling my TT from 5000' to 7000' with a headwind and 13 coming back down in a crosswind. The trip up was on two lane all the way. The trip nack was about 1/3 two lane and the rest interstate at 65MPH.
