What does the egr delete kit have to do with the egt probe?

Some guys mount the pyro probe in the rear block off plate that comes with the egr delete kit, so I assume that is what he is referring to. This picture is not from my truck, but here is an example of what some guys are doing.

I'm not familiar with the location where the egr plumbing is mounted. Is that between cylinders #1 and #2?

Mounting the pyro in the blanking plate doesn't look like a bad idea. If nothing else, it would be easier to drill and tap that plate while off the truck.

Looks good to me too, I would say it is between 5 and 6. If that plate is stainless steel, I would think it would be hard to drill and tap tho.

It's between 5 & 6 or 1 & 2 on a pickup. It's easy to do, but I would still place it in the collector. The probe will be centered better in the stream in the collector, which will provide more accurate readings.

Yes thats what i was wondering if your putting them in the block off plate or in the manifold by the turbo

I don't have a pyro on my '11 yet. However, as others have already suggested, I have always put the probe in the collector on all my previous trucks . However, the block off plate would probably be ok, but make sure you use the rear plate in the back near cylinders five and six since they run the hottest.

Some of the egr delete kits come with the rear block off plate already drilled and tapped, so it is an easy way to get a probe installed. This is the kit I'm looking at getting, and it is already tapped and plugged.
