i recently was towing my new 30 foot enclosed trailer through the mountains and was seeing 1200 on the egt. is that too much? i was having to slow way down and be easy on the throttle to stay under 1150. in case you are wondering, my temp probe is pre-turbo. what kind of egt do you guys see on a normal basis while towing, and how much is too much??

On steep uphills I have seen as high as 1300 for short periods. . I try to keep it under 1200 on hills and i'm usually around 800-900 cruising... .

One thing you may want to do is down shift to lower your egts.

down shifting seemed to have no effect on egt for long. i was always out of od while towing up the hills. with the new Rickson wheels and 19. 5 yokohamas that i bought i can travel 65+ without OD.
