So there I was heading up a pretty steep hill approx 10-12 miles long with I think a 6-12% grade, elevation going from 1800 to 5500. EGTs 1200 and engine temp 190-220 an average speed of 30 to 35 mph. I had plenty more pedal to go but I felt I was pushing the limits. I know how you guys love details, here they are.
My truck, listed in my sig. below.
Truck bed loaded with a weeks worth of camping gear for 4 (3 of them women, so even more gear). 500-1000lbs
Approx 7,000lbs of trailer, jeep and even more camping gear. (I got to take gear the gear for a bunch of others going with us as well)
So now the big question, what do I need to do to get my egt and engine temps down and maybe get up at a faster speed. I was thinking of canning the egr (along with the related soot) and maybe going with a different intake. Kind of at a loss I could use any suggestions. Thanks Robert
