Electrial Brake

I guys, I just bought a 2004. 5 Ram 2500 QC 4x4. I was wondering

if I could use my electrial brake system out of my 1996 Ram that I used for my horse trailer. Would it fit the plug-in on the 2004. 5.

your 4. 5 should have come with a new plug if you got the trailer towing package, however Yes the controller will work.

The one from my '00 tied right in to the new harness very easily.

Thanks guys, now I have another question, where the is the connector, I took off the center right below the stering wheel and I can not find it. I'm sure it's thier but I can't see it. It must be hidden pretty good. Any ideas.

Should be right up against the driver's side kick panel. if yours is where mine is ('03 vs. 04 should be the same) it's a pain in the posterior because of the parking brake ass'y. (I tell you this to further help locate it rather than to scare you off



Hope this helps. As I remember the connector is blue in color.

My '03 was the same as the picture above. My '04 has a different connector on top of the giant connector (white). The blue trailer connector was taped on the side of the wire loom behind and outside of the big connector block (between the block and the kick panel). I unsnapped the large block from the metal support (black tab needs depressed) and then it was easy to get to.

Thanks Robbie for the photo as it really came in handy. I found the connection all the way in the corner, it looked like they were trying to hide it, what a b**** to get to it, its all connected and every thing is working. Thanks to all who responded to my request.
