My electric windows seem to run up and down a lot slower than they used to. Would it help to lube the window tracts? Has anyone else had problems?

I did lube mine up when i got my pickup but i did it because the passenger side was falling out of the track so i had to adjust it. I don't really know if it helped but now they could cut fingers off if i wanted them to :-laf

Yeah, you gotta get all the crusty dirty lube off the tracks and then re lube them with some light greae. Then they will be back up to speed, so you can race your buddies power windows and win!! :D

Mine are due again, the passneger side is getting slow.

Does the panel have to come off the door to lube this or do you lube the channel up above that the window seals in?

Yes the panel needs to come off. The channel the windo mechanism rolls in needs to be cleaned and lubed. The glass does not need to be lubed, just the moving parts in the door.

Michael,

You have opened a new can of worms here. Looks like I'm going to have to install that 1hp motor on my windows now!! ;)

If cleaning & lubeing doesn't give you what your looking for remeber that when it comes to electrical dim lites slow motors could be a bad ground the next would be motor geting tierd.

My windows were going slow once... .

but the next day my arm felt better and I was able to crank them fast again :-laf
