I am a power tech Supervisor after 28 years of hands on work for the phone company here in New Jersey. I have been to power engineering training as well as many advanced trouble shooting schools. I help to maintain the rectifiers, inverters , converters & battery back up systems we use to provide phone service.

I've got a pretty broad background in electronic tech side of things. Learned most of it from the military, F16 avionics backshop tech. Have had some jobs in PMEL electronics calibration and repair. The really fun part to me is ATE, blending computers and software design with electronic troubleshooting and application, pretty fun stuff to me. I live in Farr West, Utah... work out of Hill AFB, the F16 depot. I'm a reservist at Hill too, F16 avionics.

33 years in the avionics industry. First 14 years as a bench tech. About 17 years after that as an Avionics systems engineer, and the last 2 as a Certification Engineer. Lived in Grand Rapids MI, Denver CO, and currently Tucson AZ.

Went to school in PGH, PA. at Penn Tech.

My first job I was hired right out of school working as a bench tech at a small Telecommunications (TTC)company in Germantown MD, building and repairing Telecommunications equipment.

Second, was Beth steel at Sparrows Point MD. Started as a Tech, working on and programming PLC's, DC motors and control, AC motors and control. At the end of my 4 years I was an Electrical foreman.

My current job which I've been doing for the last ten years is working for Applied Materials (AMAT). We make the equipment that make computer chips. I work at multiple customer sites in MD, DE, and VA.

BSEE from San Jose State University (Chemistry major before that). My professional career has been centered in the Silicon Valley always in Sunnyvale, although I live on the other side of the hill (near Santa Cruz). I've worked at Argosystems Inc. , Stanford Telecom, The Boeing Company, and currently at Applied Signal Technology (www.appsig.com). I mainly do government shhh shhh stuff. :D

Graduated in 1989 from DeVry with an Associates in Electronics.

Started out as a repair/bench technician in digital electronics after working in the automotive electrical field during school.

1992 Moved into Industrial Controls field and did circuit board and control panel design with some programming.

1997 I started working as a sales/applications support engineer for a distributor of industrial automation controls and like it best.

I support everything but software for this company: TMMI

Graduated from University of Colorado with a B. S. Electrical Engineering in 2002.

During college I interned with LSI Logics storage division where I worked with both SCSI and Fibre Channel host bus adapters. Now I work for Lockheed Martin and I'm technically a systems engineer working also with government shh shh stuff. .

Gradumacated from der IT&T Electronics Engineering Technology program - Worked for Rowe International on jukebox and bill changer circuits. Lots of fun trying to let the smoke out of electronics components while designing amplifier circuits. Two years of 1-800 phone lines trying to help field techs and frustrated coin op car wash owners. Moved on to other things, but still have a Tek 100 Mhz analog storage scope and my trusty Fluke 77. And seem to have recurring nightmares of Smith Charts . . . . .

Learned the trade waaaay back in '75 courtesy of Uncle Sam and his Navy. I was an ET aboard a Spruance Class destroyer. I maintained crypto, HF/UHF comm gear, MATV systems and video games.

Nowadays I keep MRI's and cat scanners up and runnin'. Been doing that for about 19 years now. I had a brief hiatus of about 18 months working for the Post Office maintaining mail sorting equipment but that job sucked very badly and fortunately I was able to return to the medical field.

Got an associates in applied science and never changed a fuse during my 20 years with AT&T and their two "illegitimate children", Lucent and Agere classified as a Process Analyst. Any work remotely close around me does not pay squat so it's back to basics, driving truck.

BS in computer engineering. Did chip design. Now working on MS in encryption. I stay in school cuz its the only co-ed environment my wife will let me enter... .

Retired after 40 years in telecommunications. Technician/Engineer involved in maintenance and design of two-way radio, microwave, and data communications systems.
