I'm starting to feel like my 2017 with 66,000 miles might be my last Diesel

I may have to keep it to my end.
Sergio Marchionne (prior CEO before Carlos Tavares) really liked diesel engines. Hence why he fought to make the EcoDiesel in the 1500, and coincidentally the VM engine was made in Italy, in the country Sergio was born in.
I bet Stellantis would look entirely different if Sergio was still running the ship. The EcoDiesel would be a fierce competition to GM's Mini-Duramax right now.
I'd also imagine that Sergio would've made the Ram Charger with both a gas and diesel option. Perhaps even just a diesel option to blow the fuel economy numbers right out of the water.
This Mr. Tavares does not like diesel engines. All Carlos sees is unicorns and electric everything.
Look at that video posted of the factory putting those battery packs in. You really want that stuff on a vehicle that you may plan to keep 25 years or longer?
Good thing there are different diesel truck brands to choose from. However, that's not the case with passenger cars any longer. As far as I'm aware of, in the USA, there are no diesel powered passenger cars. In my opinion, there should be some availability to the public if they want to drive a diesel car.
I know it's rare case, but it's more common than you'd think... lots of farms around here have a 500 to 1000 gallon tank of diesel for their tractors, trucks, and other equipment. There are quite a few of them that have diesel passenger cars because they want to stick to one type of fuel on the farm. One of them has a diesel BMW they got at an auction for their son to drive.
Me, I'm hoping to be all diesel by 2030. I'm looking to sell my F150 and buy a diesel truck to replace that, and then I'm still considering doing a diesel conversion in my Dodge Dakota. The only gasoline I want in my household is for my weed eater and my push mower. My Kubota tractor already runs on diesel and I use that for my snow removal and lawn mowing chores.
Tired of gasoline, don't want batteries that will die in 5-7 years, and I certainly don't want a super complex hybrid. Heck, I quit driving both gas trucks because I don't like gasoline -- just don't like the feel of it, the smell, and everything about gas. I haven't bought gasoline since mid-last year to fill up a 1 gallon jerry can to run the weed eater and the push mower. I've made that 1 gallon last, because I hate using gas.
