I have a 2002 Ram. Every once in a while while driving on the hwy. , the engine seems to not have any power. I can press on the pedal, and nothing happens. If I let up on the gas pedal, then press it again, it will take off.

I took it to the dealer and they said it was a dirty air filter, I knew that wasn't the problem, but let them change it anyway. The truck did it again on the way home. Now they say its the fuel filter because the engine had to work extra hard. What a bunch of crap.

I don't have a fuel press. gage. Anybody have any ideas?

You didn't say whether you changed the fuel filter or not. Since you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, I would ask the dealer to check your fuel pressure... . make sure that when they do, put a load on the engine also because the pressure will drop when a load is put on it. It needs to stay above 5psi. . preferably closer to 10psi under load.

Just my $. 02

I just had the same problem and it turned out my lift pump had been bad for a while, so they fixed it and it continued to happen so I thought it was my edge ez. Took it off and no power at all took it to a good service department some where else and they put in a new injection pump, had more power then put the edge ez back on and oh my my my man this sucker has ran better than ever. Do the whole key turn thing to see what codes you have and take that knowledge to them before your setting along the road in a dead truck.

I Had the same problem, I took my EZ off and had the codes cleared. The 0253 stayed off without the EZ but the 0216 came back. I ended up changing the Lift and Injector pumps. I put the EZ back on and its back to being it's old power monster self again.

Good luck
