Has anyone figured out where electrical arcs are coming from? ( Not batteries or alternator) Hope the be able to keep this junk going till my Topkick is here and ready for the road!

So you're getting voltage spikes in the electrical system?

If so, where was this measured and how did you rule out the alternator?

Does your subject implying you believe voltage spikes are responsible for low engine power?

little getup

Yes I meggered checked the cap ( 15 ufd) tested the diodes. All with comtects standing watching. Watched the output on the scope when it was back installed. They did putout a nice 3phase O/P. The batteries check ( 2nd set) with the scope as well. This spike is in the signals except the can bus. Where I say one was the bolt on the top of the PDC.

The voltage spikes... are they short in duration (true "spikes") or of long duration? Do the occur randomly or are consistent in their timing?

I ask because I wanted to make sure you're not seeing a voltage fluctuation from the intake grid heaters cycling on and off.

Outside of that, possibly the voltage regulator is faulty. The voltage regulator is internal to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). To remedy a faulty voltage regulator you either have to replace the PCM or wire in a separate voltage regulator. For the later, do a search on "voltage regulator" here in the TDR forum for details.

John L.
