Ok i know folks will think i am crazy on this one but i have been having a valve knock ever since i installed all six injectors. I replaced the cp3, fca, and ran additives. This noise is only when the engine gets to operating temp and is between 1200 and 2000 rpms. I live at high elevation (9000) and rarely see anything low enough to see if it maters.

Now on to the valve lash. So i have set the valve lash now three times in two months. Each time i do not find anything extremly out of spec but i do seem to need to adjust a few each time. The noise is completly gone for almost 1000 miles and then it creaps back. I tow pretty heavy usually multiple passes that really get the EGT's up there. Everything is tourqued to spec each time. Engine has 128,000 miles on it and i have only had it for 7,000 of those so i can not tell much history of this truck. Injectors are II 50hp tips.

Anyone else heard of the valve lash changing so soon.

Thanks

Are you sure it's the valves? Maybe it's timing rattle. What are you using for timing? The addition of the injections advances your timing.

I agree they will advance the timeing and at this time i have no chips or programers on it. I am sure the valves make the noise, whither it be timing or not it is much quiter after i do an adjustment.
