I am looking at full synthetic AMSOIL, LUCAS, and ROYAL PURPLE oils. Trying to see which is the better value for my new 2022 Ram. Curious what the group is using for engine oil. Plus are y'all using 10W30 or 15W40?
If you are deleted you can run it in any of the 2007.5-2022 trucks.
Sure can’t. 07.5-18 for sure, but the reason you can’t run it in 19+ is the hydraulic lifters, not the emissions.
But then one would ask why? The DME is a better oil than the AME, and cheaper.
Stand corrected on the 19-22. Not so sure the DME is better.
Please explain why you would run 5-40 over 10-30 in your 22.
This is straight out of the Cummins Manual on our ‘22 model buses with the 6.7.

Interesting. Do they have the same hydraulic lifters?
I thought they were the same but I’ll look. Anyone have an ESN for a ‘21-‘22 Ram?
I wonder if it's because the bus has a lower, max high rpm? I assume it is around 2600 rpm? Also lower HP/TQ overall.?
