standard transmission in texas sells a kit



i dont know about the input shaft tho...



and i wouldnt want to send anyone to them cuz they ripped off bob and nancy simerly



(sold them a trans that was supposed to have the 5th gear kit already installed... . it didnt)



i bought a kit (fully splined output shaft (made from billet material, then hardened), fully splined 5th gear out (billet and hardened), and a split nut)



bought it from them because it is really nice stuff



(and cuz i had twisted the stock output shaft off and needed to get truck back together)



never even thought about the input shaft...



are you guys breaking those too????



if so, at what power level?

I dont think input shaft breakage has as much to do with power output as it dores driver skill (or lack thereof) on take off or re-engagement of the clutch after a shift. Take the slack out of the driveline, THEN mash te long skinny pedal.

From what I've read too the QUAD 4x4 mainshaft is better than anybodys and his long articles explain why.

honestly, knowing what i know now, i would just get the split nut and throw that on a stock 4500, bet it would go a long ways like that...
