Tonight as i was coming off the offramp, the truck died for no apparent reason. Gauges read everything was cool,it wouldn't start up again unless i revved it. Came up to light ... had to hold down throttle to keep her running, but only lasted a minute... then ran fine..... ??

Sounds like your fuel system swallowed a gulp of air. Mine used to do a similar trick when the fuel level was below half. It ended up being a pin hole that was worn in the fuel tank module pickup tube by the sharp tip of a self tapping screw. Mine would wait to do it at inopportune times, like when there was no place to pull over. My solution was to keep the tank more than half full till I figured it out. You might want to look over your fuel delivery system for leaks before getting into the tank. Only other thing it could be is an electrical problem to the shut down solenoid, but then it will usually just shut down, keeping the idle up won't help. All this assumes that all three of your fuel filter/screens are clean.

I also had the same problem with the same year truck it turned out to be the injector pump. this took 8 trips to dodge and one trip to north central cummings to fig out . stay away from dodge dealer they are not your friend.

fuel

Did you happen to drain your filter??? I make it a habit of pulling down and a slight side ways twist to make sure it seats. sounds like a gulp of air,
