The ETC was a very strong puller and the 4:10 allowed the pulling of 15K without any problem. The auto would slip and braking was hard on the truck brakes. The best at most for the crowd that does not want to shift.
The DEE/ETH is a way different story. It pulls much stronger and the engine has power all the way to 3100 3200RPM. Combine it with an exhaust brake and it would be very hard to get any more reliable. I can come to almost a complete stop downshifting.
Both trucks have a place, if someone needs the pulling power and is able to shift the ETH is the way to go.
The ETH is maxing out at 19lbs boost currently and when I get Cummins to turn it up to 25-26 it will make the differences even more pronounced.
PS They both drove like a truck, and a very comfortable one ton.
