Mr. CPG,
You have quite a bit of experience with the Cummins Engines. Could you please share some of it with us?
These, new, HPCR engines, both Cummins and Duramax, share the Bosch Fuel Injection System. Both seem to be having a fair number of injector failures. It has been suggested that, possibly, the lack of enough fuel filteration is the cause of these problems. Filteration down to 1 or 2 or 3 microns is, sometimes, mentioned as being the answer. Does this make sense, to you? What are your thoughts?
Also, what are your thoughts regarding fuel additives and the, apparent, lack of lubricity in the new low and soon to come ultra-low sulphur fuels? Most of these additives address the "water-in-fuel" issues, also. Most of them either demulsify or emulsify the water. I know you don't want one that uses alcohol to deal with the water. Do you have a preference in this regard?
Thank you, for your opinions and suggestions.
