Here is my mods for the dual pump setup with the Racor filter/water separator
I got the Filter with a water in fuel sensor and Heater with the optional kit for the filter minder gauge kit at Diesel injection service in Lubbock, TX.
3212 slanton rd. Lubbock tx, 79404 (806)-745-4122
#RK 11-1570 the kit for the filter minder gauge and vacuum sensor
#22628 the wrench for the bowl
#R45P a replacement element filter 30 micron (spin-on kind)
#645RP1230 The main unit with a filter and water in fuel sensor and heater installed
#RK 30770 a 3/8” one-way check valve to bypass the pump if pump fails.
Total of items was $290. 00
The unit has 4 inlets and 3 outlets on it. One inlet is for the vacuum sensor and the other for inlet of fuel and it comes with plugs for the rest not used.
I used one of the outlets for the pump and one for the bypass to the outlet of the pump itself through the one-way check-valve. This is in case the pump fails you can draw fuel through the bypass from the stock located pump.
Used 3/8” Stainless steel tubing for the bended tubes you see for cleanliness of installation and had to get a bender and such and compression fittings and such.
A 3/8” Ball valve for when you change the filter, you don’t want fuel draining out of the fuel tank due to siphon action. I used compression fittings on that too.
Now the Pumps…
From Jannetty Racing Enterprises….
A #CAR-P4601HP 15 PSI 100 GPH LIFT PUMP
# CAR-P4600HP 7 PSI 100 GPH PUSH PUMP
#JRE-P4601 JRE LIFT PUMP INSTALL KIT
#JRE-P4600 JRE PUSHER PUMP INSTALL KIT
Total of these items was $348
Now depending on if you have a long-bed or not, will depend on how you mount these. If you have a long-bed, use a plate to assemble the stuff on a bench then bolt to the frame just in front of the tank. You have to cut a bit of the lower pipe out with a tube cutter. I mounted mine above the drive-shaft on a “L” bracket bolted to the plate and it hanging from the crossmember that runs above the tank. I just clipped the hose from the tank and ran fuel hose to the filter then the pump back to the hose from the tank. I had to clip the end of the stock hose but it was plastic. . There is a relay for the pump and instructions from Jannetty is clear on how to hook it up.
It took me most of a day to put the pusher system on once I had all the stuff mounted on a plate of aluminum. Oh and I also threaded the plate with a tap set to bolt the parts right to it using fine thread bolts.
Plan on making the system up from the parts then tackle the install to the truck.
I like this system and I also hooked up a Fuel pressure gauge just after the lift pump and I read 13 psi idle, 10-12 cruise, and no less than 8 WOT. I think I have it worked out good!!
Good luck on your install
Eric
