Deep Tranmission Pan

This might have been asked before, but I am new here so please bear with me. I have a 2002 2500 with a automatic transmission and I was wondering if I could but a exhaust brake on it? I tow a 30 foot 5th wheel trailer and I thought it would save on my brakes.

Thanks for your patiences,

Mike

You can put it on but you need a way to lock up the TC to make good use of it. Locking the TC will even give a little slow down without the exhaust brake. I don't have a brake (too much dinero) but I still use the lock up of the transmission to help slow the thing down when towing.

Wow, brand new. Welcome!

You have hit the motherload of tips and info for your truck :D

There are many suppliers that sell lock up boxes, I have one from BD and it has served me well. If you want to get by on the cheap you can just wire in a switch but it requires you don't forget to turn it off at stop signs. Do your self a favor and use the "search" function to find posts on converter lock up boxes. You should get plenty of information to mow thru then you can make a eduacated decision.

BOMB means "better off modified baby" grab your wallet it's a slippery slope Oo.
