Greg,
Where did you put your 4" in-line brake, how far from the turbo is it. I see in your signature that you have a 5" exhaust. How did you integrate the 4" Brake. I know that pac brake makes a 5" in-line as well.
I am looking at the 4" in-line pac brake myself. I am not sure how to go about it since the stock exhaust is 3. 5" from the turbo back to the muffler.
I have been thinking about buying the Banks down pipe and then fabricating the 4" pipe from the downpipe to the muffler. I would replace the muffler with a four inch as well. I would retain the stock tail pipe.
I don't know if the brake should be integrated into the down pipe or just after the down pipe.
Sarge, I had a Jacobs on my '03 and it worked well. I did not like the buzzing/rattling from the shifter mounted shift lever. It worked fine, although at about 18k miles it started to screech when disengaging, it stopped doing that at about 28K miles. I did not care for the vacuum pump either. I believe I would prefer air pressure and not alter the stock belt length. The vacuum pump actually makes its own noise that can be heard over the engine at idle.
I am leaning toward the remote mount because of the inherent or normal high EGTs that the 3rd gens produce. Not so much for swapping out the turbo. But you never know... ...
