Exhaust manifold failures

I spoke to a friend at DCX today who told me of some failures with 04. 5 and 05 exhaust manifold failures, they are working on a new design. They are seeing failures with heavy heat loads. Have had some trucks also from feedback that are seeing 1500 degrees due to clogged air filters that is causing the failures... keep an eye on the air filters... ... ... .

I just wonder about the intake down tube these genius's designed! This has to be the worst restriction on an intake I have found yet! I don't have a pyrometer in my 05' but I do in my 04' and after I gutted that down tube it seemed to go down. If there is someone who has a pyro on the stock setup I would like to know what they are reading and I could compare it to mine. Check my pics on the 04'-05' intake mod

I'm also going to drill some holes in the stock airbox on the 05' and see what that does.

I check the filters religously, no problems there yet at least with the 05', I'm not running a stock intake on the 04'. I wonder about the exhaust restrictions with the cat and muffler used on the 05?
