VW not the only one in small car diesel market?

Ford owns Cummins

Two exhaust types that I laughed at.

One was a late 90s Chevy 2500 6. 5, ext cab long bed, one 5 inch stack coming out the passenger corner of the bed. Funniest part about it was the flapper on top like the some big rigs use. He was making a left hand turn and saw me from the right side of a 4-way while I was waiting to make a left also. He gunned it and I saw a tiny little puff of smoke, barely enough to open the flapper, lol.

The other one was this past Friday. It was a neat looking Ford Super Duty, F-250, 2001 I think. Crew cab shorty with custom purple paint job and a chick, excuse me, woman, driving! Neat looking truck, and couldn't hear it right away so I looked for the badging on the door. Yep, PSD! "So, what kind of exhaust does she have?" I looked and barely saw it. It was dual with side exit, tucked inside the fenders and exiting perpendicular to the truck, but at a 45* angle to the ground. Funniest part was they were only 2" tips, 6" long. I know of gassers with bigger exhaust!

Granted my stock 3. 5" is not much bigger BUT I haven't redone my exhaust yet. When I BOMB my exhaust I sure am not going to waste my time doing dual 2"!

Hey, don't knock the flapper too hard. My brother put stacks on his 97 one ton last month, and put the flappers on them. Kinda sounds neat when the truck is just idleing. I like my 24 valve with a 4" exhaust but his 12 valve sounds flat awesome with those stacks. Oh yeah, and he can open both his up:) ! But 400+ hp will tend to do that. :)

Can you post some pics? I would like to see some if you could. :D

Dang, I knew someone would want pics. I don't have a scanner and no digital camara either. He has a custom made aluminum flatbed he designed himself. It is 8ft wide and sticks past the cab a few inches and he ran the stacks up just in front of the bed so they actually run up the side of the cab. It looks different but with the flatbed, made it pretty cool. Dang, that sounds about as clear as mud. I wish I could draw a picture at least.

I will be doing the same thing when I get a chance to install the bed and stacks. Have the alum. bed already. Got a used one to put on. Need to clean it up and make a couple of small repairs first.
