Well, I've been shopping around for exhausts, and I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with Expandit Exhausts. I'm a college student on a budget, so $385 for a 5" straight pipe looks like a good deal. Should I just save up and go with the MBRP or Silverline? Thanks, Buck

i think, a stock engine can't build enough output to warrant a 5" exhaust. With that said, maybe look around for a 4" that you can afford. I think a mbrp 4" aluminized might go for like 3-400. You'll like it, and it's easy to get installed... i'd only go for 5" if you were building for big power, like 350+ HP. This is what I've heard... good luck.

more like 500+, but who cares, 5" sounds way better than 4"

I like my mbrp it cost 378 for 4" with 5" tip and free shipping It is quitier then my stock 3" that was straight piped at idle in and out of the cab and quitier in the cab at idle and crusine speed but when I step down on it is louder and has a unique crackle sound to it I like it if you are interested I might be selling it soon I have had it on my truck since april I'm thinking of going to 5" stacks.

Thanks guys for the responses. I eventually hope to be at or above 500 horses... it may take a while but  . I wanted to buy a 5" because it's loud, and also I wanted to save myself from buying another one in the future. So stay away from cheap companies like "Expandit" ?

cheaper the better, it's just 16ga steel! lots of areas you don't want to cheap out... transmission, clutch, turbo, etc. but exhaust the cheaper the better IMHO.

i agree, to some extent cheeper is better, but to some extent. buying cheep sometimes gets expensive too. So, buy something you can get at least a few to 5 years outta. . that's one reason i went with mbrp, 5 yr warranty... also, think about how long it'll take for you to get to 500hp - if your pockets are deep and you have never ending resources, go for it... if you are like me, the upgrades are planned out for the next year to 2 so i can afford it... (well, i can't really but why stop :D )

got my 5" system from City Muffler on ebay 2. 5yrs ago for $280... not so much as a speck of rust anywhere... it's gonna last a long time, and I won't have to buy another kit as power goes up

I have a 5" Expandit system leading to my stacks.

Its good quality and I have had no complaints from friends that have put it on their truck as well.
