This is the lever the everyone is asking about. It's one of the mods that has big gains in fuel output. The secret is installing the lever with ther proper retainers to prevent seapage. Hint; don't use the stupid little brass looking cups Bosch sends you!!! :-{}

Sorry, all other pictures are cencored :D

I'd like to thank our own Pastor Bob for relaying and talking me through some of these mods. He was a huge help in settling my nerves. Also, Bill "I cant watch but one gauge cause my truck goes so fast" Gilbert. I'm currently teaching him how to chew gum and drive :-laf Thanks Bill for the confidence and your understanding when I kept asking for more money :-laf

Hey Bill, when you do get more $$, next time we'll look into that (cylinder) head problem you'll be having :-laf :-laf :-laf

Hi McVey,

Sorry it was a "Can you please install my *new* pump tomarrow" sorta thing. Besides we would have all wanted to stand around and admire one another's truck/shoot the bull and tell lies and I had a lot of work to do. Besides I never work well with folks looking over my shoulder.

Come on up sometime when we can chat.

Don, first you're gonna need better fuel delivery. Need that piston lift pump and parts for conversion.

Yeah Zach, it was a last minute thing, right on New Years Eve. Thanks for the great pics Scott. Time for me to tear into my spare:D.....

Don,

I PM'ed you and then was told you can't get them

You'll first need more fuel to feed the VE... .

Then head studs, turbo, 60#springs and a transmission to drive it all. Then look me up.

BTW I was told that the min sized turbo to use with a pump of this caliber would be an HX 40 of some variant. I have no way of knowing, however I don't doubt this is a solid 400 HP pump.

BTW guys and gals... . Bill can't get an accurate reading on his boost gauge cause his system leaks like a son-of-a-gun.

I would think a stage III kit from HTT would fit that requirement... . and that's a pretty cost effective solution.

If my wallet was that fat, I would just go out and by myself a Prevost!

Oh well, I'm still doing the updated lift pump thingy regardless. Like I said before, I'm sucking through about three times as much fuel line as everyone else her, not to mention a Racor R45 as well, so it certainly cannot hurt anything.

Don,

My VE powered 1989 bus has a new OEM lift pump and it's operating in a similar manner. The new lift pump provides 3 psi at idle and WOT. If it was not working properly the LP wouldn't keep up. The VE is tweaked just a bit and it's using the H1C @ 27 psi boost. Had it had the piston style lift pump I'd be seeing about 9 to 12 psi fuel pressure.

I don't know your exact numbers. However the piston pump will serve your needs well especially should you turn the power up on that old VE.

BTW guys,,,did you know that the Bosch VE is designed to serve "low power automotive needs" ?????

Yes... per the manual up to about 25 kw (33. 5 hp) per cylinder :-laf :-laf

That's 201 hp for our engines.

So Scott... ya building a 202 hp pump? :-laf

:-laf :-laf..... ya 202. 56 RWHP... . that's it... good on ya...

pb.....

edit: BTW, if I loose ONE more ram's head off the hood (on my 4th one now) I'm gonna harness all 25 Kw and hook up a wire to those things... the next guy is in for a surprise...

blasted bozo's.....

pb...

I think I still have the ram's head hood emblem off of the 1990 doner truck I bought for the conversion. If anyone want's it just pay the shipping.

You need to put on an emblem showing the back end of the Ram... see if they steal that.
