It might not be recommended by Consumers Reports and other bean counting experts but I took the extended warranty. Not worried about the cummins but about the DODGE. Last 2 cars I have owned, the extended warranty more than paid for itself. Taurus kind of came unglued at 76,000 and the 99 Intrepid was a mess from 50, 000 on. Finally traded it for a Toyota.
Anyway, if by some miracle I do not use the extended warranty by the end of it's term I get a full refund of the purchase price. It is a warranty pushed by the dealer, not the Chrysler extended warranty. It is really up to you, I like having the protection.
