When I bought my '98 used from a local couple in '00, they had a Chrysler extended warranty that transferred to me for $50. Best $50 I've spent on the truck. I figure it's saved me nearly $1000 in replaced axle seals, pinion seal, electric seat motor, electric window mechanism, etc. Yeah, I could do these myself, but the parts alone would have been half that, and if I'm going to take the time to work on the truck I want to be BOMBing it, not repairing failed parts.
I would suggest you look into after-market warranties. Check into Warranty Gold. They have a web site. Get one that doesn't list what they cover, but lists just the few things they don't cover (much shorter list).
