so My new to me Laramie Longhorn has a flat black vinyl trim attached to the back post of the front door and the and front post of the rear door.... The previous owner of the truck must have grabbed this section of the door, because this vinyl trim has bubbled and cracked where it meets the door....

I've been told that there is a chrome strip, available to cover this portion of the front/rear door that can replace this vinyl strip... any one have an idea where to purchase them.... I assume that this chrome trim would look better and cost less than trying to have the old trim pulled off and replaced by a body shop...

Thanks... Jim

it looks like its under the trim that goes along the bottom of the window... I'll find someone in town who does wraps..

But thought the chrome trim might look nice and go with the chrome on the back of the mirrors..

I pulled mine off. They're mainly there for asthtetics to reduce the visual division lines created by he door frames/pillar between the windows. My truck is a dark blue so that visual wouldn't be that big a deal anyway. It did have a couple ripples/bubbles at the bottom that I had to look at every time I opened the door like yours I guess. Took about 15 minutes to pull all four off and another 15 to get the adhesive residue off. There is a screw at the rear of the front door and at the front of the rear door (where the subject vinyl is) on the inside that secures that end of the black trim that runs along the bottom of the window. It'll give you enough of a gap on that trim to peel the vinyl off behind it where it starts at the bottom. Peel slow and most of the adhesive will come off with it, which I realized on the last one. I think mine looks better without it.

Well, here's the update... the cost to have it redone with a material that is very close to the OEM product... $75 to do the drivers side... but I've found the Pro Z Piller Post Trim... $67 for all 4 doors... and the new chrome will match the chrome on the mirrors... Now I have to decide which to do.. Maybe I'll just remove it...
