My above descrubed set up is intended for use only when there is a specific purpose; I would NOT be leaving them on just to have them on.
I got the idea when I heard about people camped at Qartzsite Az. out in the desert with hundreds of RVs scattered over square miles who had a medical emergency. They were able to summon assistance on their cell phone, but the assistance had a LOT of trouble finding them. Fashing lights would help without the necessity of getting your truck in position to hook up, and then (or with a motor home) you can only flash lower lights, not the top clearance lights.
Another possible use would be if you thought someone was prowling around; flashing lights might make them feel conspicuous.
