My above descrubed set up is intended for use only when there is a specific purpose; I would NOT be leaving them on just to have them on.

I got the idea when I heard about people camped at Qartzsite Az. out in the desert with hundreds of RVs scattered over square miles who had a medical emergency. They were able to summon assistance on their cell phone, but the assistance had a LOT of trouble finding them. Fashing lights would help without the necessity of getting your truck in position to hook up, and then (or with a motor home) you can only flash lower lights, not the top clearance lights.

Another possible use would be if you thought someone was prowling around; flashing lights might make them feel conspicuous.

emergency lighting ( anytime)

Although there are expensive gadgets on the market to provide emergency lighting when your trailer must be left along the highway or in a campground, there's a very inexpensive and easy method to provide flashing lights. Either carry an extra heavy-duty emergency flasher or simply borrow one in you existing tow=vechicle fuse panel ( it must be two prongs). Assuming that your trailer's umbilical-cord plug is wired using the industry-standard seven-way schematic, just insert the two prong flasher

into two slots. The trailer battery suppies the 12 volt DC power. Your trailer's clearance and tail-lights will flash like Christmas lights. The flashing lights also make a good locating " device" for late arriving guests, especially if you're camped in a primitive area

or a campground.
