Competition 13.20's with Cal trac's

Don't you read your TDR mag?

2 issues ago, there was a picture of Scheids truck with the hood open.

I wonder if they use that picture to put it back together after everu run?

There's a TDR magazine?

Ever since I got ZERO credit for the "You know you're a diesel head when... . " thread that has appeared on the back cover of the TDR magazine twice (the second time was a repeat of the original)... . I have only skimmed through it. :D

Probably not gene,

because i have a feeling they DOCUMENT all there stuff, unlike a certian person i know, oh wait, that's me:rolleyes:

Kenny

I just found some of those documents:

Engine exploded... ... ... we don't know why.....

I think those things you lisetd are all exagerated.

It comes down to, there are secrets that have been learned on how to keep these engines together at extreme power.

Some guys have not learned those secrets yet!;)

I got to talk to Kent last weekend at GLTDR's Scheid event. I happened to ask him what rpm he normally runs at, and he replied around 4500.

He also said they plan on showing up at TIM, if all goes well.

Eric

It's the boost that sounds so impressive on the video of it. :--) The videos I have if it versus Mitchell, Mitchell sounds like he is higher in the RPMs then Kent. :)

Andrew

Mitchells truck always seems to gain rpm going down the track, and powers it out at the end. Scheids seems to start real high, and lose it the whole way down, with no grunt at the end.

Two total different designs. Kind of neat.

A good pull video showing lots of rpm is on www.diesel-central.com

Go to videos, down load "erik at Carlisle," you won't be dissapointed, except maybe for the camera man running for cover, and blowing the last 2 seconds... ... ...

Just watched the video..... Scheid's truck still sounds like its turning more rpm than Erik's and Mitchell's... not knocking them... just making subjective observations.

With no official information on the truck - I agree... it is all still speculation - and we understand that. BUT - Scheid builds some of the sickest pulling tractors out there that routinely turn 6000rpm... with 3 turbos and insane fuel systems.

In Erik's video... . you can see the Scheid truck smoking while just sitting there... . patiently waiting to run.

Matt

I think I'm still more impressed with George Peterson's truck then Erik's. No offence to Erik as I know he is one badddd boyyyyy, but that night looked like George was on. :)

Wish they would have put the Schied truck up there, even if it did break. :(

Sleddy, I'm still waiting on that video. ;)

Drew: I mentioned the video in my phone conversation the other week with 'ole Gene... . "Sleddy is still waiting for his $$$!" :D

George Peterson's truck is an auto too... . which makes it even more interesting to me.

In one video... George's truck bounced so bad that his LF tire came off the ground a few times. I'm in awe how his axle joints are still alive after that... .

Matt

The neatest thing about Georges auto?

Is some hilljack with no transmission degrees, and no transmission shop built it. Put it together in the reaper shed.

Also,I clobbered all three of those guys, TWICE at Muncie last year, think they will come back for more, in 03?

Wow! I knew he had a tight converter in it... . but I didn't know that he didn't have one of the many vendors build it for him.

I noticed that his truck smoked progressively MORE as the season went on. :D

The secret of his success is the reaper shed... . not too many folks have one of those - especially around here. :-laf

Matt

Andrew,

You had to be there, and you werent.

Scheids truck @ Scheids destroyed the competition.

Everyones jaw was at the floor when Kent Crowder pulled.

Im not knockin Mitchells truck, in my opinion it is more consistent and more reliable and has alot more wins.

But, Scheids is exotic and super extreme and is willing to blow it up everytime, to me that deserves alot of respect.

Yes, thank goodness Scheids won 1 pull, elsewise theyd have looked foolish with those semi loads of busted parts.

It is odd that NOBODY from Indiana has ever posted about the Scheid pull, when Mitchell trucks were putting 50+ feet on the competiton.

Not even a , "Hey nice pull. "

Mitchell trucks were top 3 or 4, and then a Ford, last year.

Out of the closet now, by garsh, tho, ain't they?? LOL:D

Competiton is a good thing, and I'm glad somebody can get close to Mitchell. We needed a guage to show the diffeence.

As for "DESTROYING" Mitchell?

Johnboy has put over 200 feet on Dave, 2 different times.

Gene,

Its ok, your god (Dave)cant win everytime!

I guess this can be settled at this years Scheid Diesel Extravaganza.

:D
