Eye floaters???

Any body here have eye floaters?



I have an appointment tommorrow with an eye doctor for these things in my eyes. I just did a little search and am pretty sure this is what's going on. Is there any way to get rid of them? Or prevent more?

From listening to Paul Harvey, he has been promoting something called Ocular Nutrition. Some the letters he reads on the air seem to suggest that it can help get rid of them.

Depends upon size, shape etc. Woke up one morning a while back and had one that was like an inverted horseshoe. Called the eyedoctor and he said to get in right away. Checked and said this one was OK (they can see them while checking you out!), it would clear up in a while, but if it ever reoccurred and especially was a complete circle, get to a doctor immediately, because it was a form of retinal detachment.



Small floaters I guess everybody has from time to time, so hope yours are small and just an annoyance

I have had a couple small ones now for a few years, 95% of the time I don't really notice them. But a times it will catch my attention and seem somewhat bother some. I need to get a eye exam soon, been lazy about making a appointment.

i get them from time to time... i haven't seen them in a while though. . i didn't ever think anything about it, but last eye exam my doc noticed them... he said if they don't get any worse, don't worry about them. they are just protein[sp?] strands...

I've had floaters for years. They come and go and are harmless. They're only annoying when they insist on being smack dab in the middle of my vision; these I make float elsewhere. Otherwise, I ignore them.

I was taking some oral drops, B-12, honey and a tinge of alcohol. Cleared the floaters right up. Got it at a highend healthfood store. I'll see if I have a bottle in the fridge.

Floaters it is!!



Doctor didn't seem to be concerned that I'm only 24 and getting these already. I can't stand them and want to make them go away ASAP.



I am going to check out some of the herbal remedies, and see what happens. I like hearing about people that have been able to get rid of them, and what they used to do it.

I will dreg this one out of the cellar. I too have floaters and becoming bothersome.

I have had them for 30+ years and had more than one eye doctor tell me that they are harmless and there is nothing that you can do about them. Are a royal pain in the wazoo at times.

I mentioned them to my eye doc at the last exam and he just sort of brushed it off. "Vitreous floaters" aren't a big deal in his mind, but it does bug me when I have a wall, ceiling or sky for background. I'm wondering how easily I could pick out my model airplane if I got airborne again. I just hope they don't get worse.

Yes, they all bother me almost all the time. Heat, cold, air, are all sensitive. He did nothing. It's like a question they have to ask, but response is optional. Even if there weren't any cavities, he'd find a reason to replace or work on something and it alway hurt and cost an arm and a leg. I haven't been back in 2 years. Sure my teeth may have suffered, but I probably saved 2 or 3 thousand dollars.



I can probably live with false teeth pretty easily. Eyes are different.

Wow, I've had these for most of my life, and I never knew other people had them too! Or that they're called "floaters"!

I just assumed they were tiny bits of proteins and what-not floating around in my eyeballs. I've always ignored them.

I see the eye doctor pretty much once a year, and they've never said a word to me.

In the last few years, I have gotten used to them, but they are still there.



I generally don't notice them until a cloudy day, or fresh snow. I would love to get rid of them, I guess I'll have to wait until the eye doctors care.

I have them everyday and have had them as far back as I can remember. Matter of fact, I have them right now.

My left eye has a lot of them, I had a torn retna about a year ago that caused them to get much worse. Doc said they'd "go away" in about a year, BS!!! They drive me nuts.

reminds me of a race cam when they move the lens covering to a cleaner spot-- Except it goes back and forth and never gets to a clean spot.
