Looking for a combination to put on my ETH for good low end grunt, good fuel mileage, and driveability (can use cruise control).
Not looking to build a racer, but a good heavy hauler.

Have read previous posts about VA boxes W/DD1
that sound good, but was wondering how the
EZ/DD1 combo works.

You might want to consider the DD TTPM. It is made by EZ to DD specs. The box does timing, fuel, and boost.

Doesn't the EZ do timing, fuel and boost also?

I have that combo and it works great.

Doug, that will be a great combo. Go for it. Might endanger your clutch if you push it hard though.

I have the EZ-DD1 combo. I replaced the banks ottomind with the EZ. More power, better mileage, smoother idle and power, and now my cruise control works good. At 55-60 mph the cruise surges just noticably, but over that it is perfect.

Doug, why not try either the DD or EZ box alone first. I had the EZ on my ETH with stock injectors and was real happy with the performance. I think your going to be looking at a clutch replacement sooner rather than later, especially since you tow, if you add injectors. You will be suprised at what the EZ alone will add.

Doug, yes the EZ does the same thing as the DD module. The DD version is slightly detuned to work better with their injectors(less smoke).
You can drive with the EZ and DD1's and not get smoke, if you're light on the pedal until boost is up.

I run the EZ with the DD2's and I get little blake puffs when taking off. Not bad enough to worry about.
Plus with the fueling adjustments, you can set it lower, so the fueling comes in later. The timing is set, so the adjustment is for fueling. Not how much but when it kicks in.

Thanks for the info, guys.
I've got an EZ coming from Barry (great price!) #ad
so guess I'll start off with just the box- AFTER I get the gauges in!

Sure would like the better flow DD1's- but NOT if it's going to fry the clutch!

Just read the latest TDR Mag with the clutch article in it--what a liteweight piece of trash DC mickey moused in to fit #ad

The DD true torque module is not a detuned Edge. The difference is in timing primarily. Lawrence did extensive dyno testing and prefers different timing specs from what Edge uses.

I think the DD is detuned or else why the different HP # DD-50HP, EZ-65HP, DD-100 torque, EZ-165 torque, and yes the timeing is different. Regards, Ron
