OK, I know this one has already been beaten quite a bit, and I've read all of the threads and used the search feature. But few have just the box; most have injectors, too. Also, a lot of info on the VA is on their earlier model, not the new HO model for the ETH. My experience with VA is that it seems to have very little impact on the "light load" mpg.
Can some of you provide "real world" data comparing the EZ to the VA-HO, as to "light load" mpg, in an otherwise unmodified truck? Has anyone tried both of these on the same ETH, and if so, what differences did you note? Thanks in advance for allowing me to beat this dog one more time #ad

I had the old style VA on my ETH. I got all excited about the "new" HO VA. I said send me one... ... ... . I drove it 30 miles and took it off. I have tried most all of the "plug ins" on the market. IMHO, the EZ is the most bang for the buck out there. Especially for the ETH. I just went to PHX last week end. 75 mph and 410 gears and for the first time, I broke the magic 20 mpg mark. Everyone has an opinion. You now have mine... ... ...

On the flip side, my first BOMB, after gauges and the loss of the blow by bottle, was the EZ box. While I noticed an immediate gain of power, the one thing I didn't get was a MPG increase. Maybe I was "in it" too much.

I don't have any information on the fuel milage differences, but a friend running 275s and the old VA on his ETH swapped out to the EZ while sitting on the dyno and seen a 30 hp increase. This was just a couple of weeks ago.

At a diesel get together one of the members was able to try both. He told me the EZ seem to make his motor clatter more and the power came on hard at about 1700 rpm. He said the Van Aakin - Plug n Power gave him more low end torque and was smooth power.
I have the VA and PS boost module. My '95s power would come on like a rocket at about 1600 rpm. I was dissapointed when I had this set up until I got his opinion. That is when I realized how smooth this set up is. Being a smooth set up you have more control over your vehicle. I get up to 30# of boost and have not seen over 1100 degrees on the pyro.
Hope this helps. I still dont know which injectors to get. Leaning strongly to Diesel Dynamics II's, to the point of falling over #ad
