Final Thoughts,Comments and a Question... .
Well I have to say that this years show was a great success, even though there were other big shows the same day. The number of trucks amazed me on both days which shows me the great weather helped a ton. I was certainly happy to see the number of Ford owners on Sunday,I just wish we could draw more of them to enjoy the 2 day activities. 3 GM owners was kinda poor, but,it wasn't for my lack of trying. The counts I had given to me for Dodge's for the 2 days numbered over 200 for both days combined, but, they were hard to keep track of with guys coming and going all day long. Each year it keeps getting better and better and to those who came out,I say thank you.
Runs for the weekend...
Well there was no doubt iun my mind the usual guys would step up and lay down some outstanding runs. TiminVa,Huff N Puff,Trevor and MD500E all laid down some stout rolls being all of them over 600hp. The TDR's best all around combo rig,Snow Man,was well over 500 and sniffing 600. Total HP for all of the 88 best runs was 33,810. 9,with a average of 384. 2 hp for all the trucks that rolled. I'll get a chance now to look over past numbers and post the most improved truck this weekend. The number of stock trucks was down significantly this year, hmmmm, wonder why,LOL.
Its my humble opinion though the runs of the weekend were Dockboy's 500 and near 600 HP rolls with his 2000 7. 3 Powerstroke. I am certain that if you would have taken a consensus before we started not many gave Greg a snowballs chance to make 500 let alone get as close to 600 as he did. It just goes to show you all his hard work recently during a rebuild paid off. It also fixed a "urban legend" of mine and that was anyone EVER seeing a 500hp Ford on a dyno. Before this weekend you would hear the winds blow about 500+ hp Fords but NEVER see one on a dyno anywhere.
Now if you want to talk about the best sneek attack,it had to be F8LDOSE's 700hp+ rips that were done last on Sunday. I had heard earlier during the week of someone coming in with a near 800hp ride and tried all week in vain to see who it was with no one knowing who it was. Arriving late on Sunday and unloading he came and asked me to be last, which I did for him. He then proceeded to smash any number laid down in any show set-up by me and set the group that was left abuzz with,"Who is this guy and where is he from". Jason and his group have one stout ride and only needed 2 pulls to break our High HP Fall Brawl Number which was owned by Jetpilot. Running on all #2 and only using a mister to cool the outside of the intercooler and top charger they have set a number for all to shoot for next year. Nice job Jason and keep up the good work.
I will work on getting ready the stuff for those who were not present and their tickets got pulled. I will get the items out shipped out during the week next week,so I hope that all your contact info on the dyno cards was good as I am going to use that. What I can mail will be mailed and what needs to be shipped will be shipped UPS with those who won paying the shipping charges.
Now the question...
There was alot of questions this year about ''sled pulling" and if we would consider it as a added competition for next year. Ernie,Doug and myself will begin to look into the logistics of it. I will be in contact with Sled Puller, since he is the DHRA Sled Pulling DoC,and see what we need to do make this happen. IF we can make this happen its we will need to move the Fall Brawl show up a weekend or back a weekend. This will ensure that the trucks who have emailed from the west can make it and we will not conflict EEP's charity pull. One thing I am concerned about is weather if we move the show back. So those who have any idea's or thoughts drop them here or PM them to me.
One group I can not forget to thank is Kauffman Motorsports. Ernie,Nancy and their entire staff ALWAYS make us feel at home and help to make sure our show goes on without a hitch. This is a top notch business run by top shelf people who always care about their customers. Enough can not be said for what they do to allow us to have a great show like this. THANK YOU KAUFFMAN MOTORSPORTS FOR A JOB WELL DONE!!!. Lots of good times, great numbers and fun was had. I thank all who came out and enjoyed the time with us. Till Next Year... ... ... . Andy
