Diesel Drags At Masondixon Dragway Oct. 17

Possible Pittsburgh/SW Pa Truck Show???

Here are the two closest campgrounds for those who wish to use them... .

http://roundtopcamp.com/ -We have used this campground once before a few years ago and those who stayed there enjoyed themselves and liked the joint.

http://www.drummerboycamping.com/ -I personally do not know much about this place, but, the Ford Contigent who roll with us have used this campground as their meet earlier this year. I heard no complaints about and its located a little north of Round Top Campground.

Both of these campgrounds are within 15 minutes of Kauffman's and easily accessable from US RTE 15. There will be dry camping permitted on the Kauffman grounds as long as it doesn't swamp us out like last year on Saturday(Somehow I think Sebek is still trying to figure out how to get the mud off his truck from that day,LOL).

Updates for the show as I have them to this point.....

I have recieved confirmation from 2 vendors who will be on hand,Massdiesel and Double S Diesel. Double S will do a silent auction that weekend to benefit MS,something Tina has been struggling with for some time now,and I feel this is a great idea. Wannadiesel, from the DTR,will be on hand to eliminate those nasty KDP worries for owners who want it done. Dave's deal is about as slick as they come and he does nice work. He was with us at the Exton,PA meet earlier in the year and while watching him he made the job look easy. Dave will take no money for the tab work and asks only that the owners make a donation to the MS that day(plus he wants to be fed and kept watered, wonder if he is related somehow to our resident dyno wheelman Dave because he sounded like him when he told me that). All charity money collected for MS from the show will be donated to MS to show our support for those who have helped one of our own.

I have others contacted and am awaiting their return calls. One thing I do not understand is the lack of support from the Ford specfic vendors. Its been that way since we started this show a few years ago and it still has me baffled. Doug is doing some more motel research and I will make a few stops and check also. As more info become available I will add it to the posts... ... . Andy

Glad to hear Nick and Tina (Double S Diesel) are going to be able to make it out. I think the silent auction is a terrific idea.

I am one of the (former) Ford contingent who has used Drummer Boy (for our spring Gettysburg meets), and it is a very nice facility, and very convenient to Kauffman's (like Andy said, maybe about 15 minutes). Recommended.

I am planning on making this one on Sunday, with plans to dyno. The only thing thats going to keep me away other than weather is I have my whole kitchen and Dinning room gutted. I have to finish all new soffits, electrical and drywall before my new cabinets arrive, which is scheduled to happen the week prior to Fall Brawl.

The Drummer Boy campground is great. Thay also have cabins for you people who need hotels and can't get them. I camp there at least twice a year.

Well here is a update all will want read.....

After reading numerous emails(this year and in years past) and giving deep consideration to all the suggestions we will change the current classes of competition to try and make the show better for all who show. This is something we wish to try to help level the competition for all the brands and their owners. So without further delay, here they are and how they will be run the day of the show.

STOCK- This class is limited as in the years past to the following mods, air intakes and aftermarket exhausts. NOTHING ELSE!. I am going to try and figure a way to make all the years competitive with each other as the newer common rail injection trucks have way more HP than the older rides. Those caught with other unapproved mods in this class will forfeit any chance of winning anything. Please be honest owners, this is a fun show and I'd like to keep it that way.

MODIFIED-This class is limited to a SINGLE turbo with NO PUMP CONVERSIONS(example:A 24 Valve single turbo truck with a P-Pump installed)and on #2 ONLY. The use of over the counter fuel additives is permitted but NO DRUGS(this includes meth injection and water misters). Aftermarket chargers, fueling boxes, injectors and pusher pumps are all legal. Owners who run single chargers and use drugs may compete as long as their bottle has been disconnected or removed, these owners will be asked to show they did this when they enter the dyno room.

COMPETITION-This class will allow any fuel pump combination(example:p-Pump conversions),any charger(twins included) or supercharger and run on #2 alone. Over the counter fuel additves permitted but NO DRUGS(this includes meth injection and water misters). Any injector, fueling box, aftermarket turbos(twins permitted) and pusher pumps are ok. Owners who have drugs may compete but must disconnect their bottles or tanks and will be asked to show this when they enter the dyno room.

UMLIMITED-Run What Ya Brung... This is the "Don't Bring A Knife To A Gunfight Class".

Any fuel, charger configuration any amount of drugs can be used here. The only rule here is the HOOD MUST close and latch tightly. This is for safety reasons as we have seen the aftermath of a head-gasket explosion with the hood open.

One thing I will continue to stress is honesty. Any owner who is caught not being honest will have their respective runs disallowed and forefit any prize/trophy chances. Remember gang, this is a fun show even though we have some level of competition and I'd like to keep it that way. The easiest way for us to do that is being honest with whats is done to your respective rides.

I am hoping this will give the owners who do not feel they can compete with the more modified trucks a chance to compete... ... ... ... . Andy

andy,, this is just my opinion but,,

"stock class" should be divided into 3 classes,,1st,2nd and 3rd gen and let the ford and chevy trucks fall into one of the 3 generations based on their model year.

"modified" should include any fueling inhancements and any turbo set up

(single or twins) with #2 only.

or maybe have 2 modified classes.

1. any fueling enhancement with single turbo and #2 only

2. any fueling,,twin turbo,,# 2 only

" competition class" should be just that !! run what you brung,,anything goes!!

"unlimited class" not needed if classes are divided as above.

again,,not bashing what you have decided,,,just my opinion and maybe my stock class suggestion will make it fair to all 3 generations of trucks.

Andy, that sounds like a good setup of the different classes, although I do get the feeling that all of that bold print about PUMP CONVERSIONS was aimed at a certain someone!!! :D

I guess I fall in the competition class. Though I'm just trying to keep up with the Jones's. Rotary to P-Pump is like my truck being a 94-98 that would be in modified under the other mods I have. I guess I'll also be the only single turbo truck in the competition class. Oh well I'm not out to make any big #'s anyway. just giving my $0. 02... ...

Ok guys here is the why we did what we did... ... . Andy and discussed that with the 3 original classes that unless a person was highly modified then they really didn't have a shot at winning their class. By breaking it down this way we felt that it would allow normally modified guys to have a fighting chance.

Don,

It would be great to be able to break down the classes by makes and or models and maybe next year we can try doing so. We had discussed the same concerns prior to changing from 3 to 4 classes. I think Andy and I agree this isn't perfect but its better than we had. Lets try this for now, see how it goes and then see how we want to proceed in the future.

Kevin,

I don't think that a certain person has anything to worry about :-laf
