need some input on a fan clutch for my 95, who has a good one for the best prices? Would like to save some money but still want a good clutch, put this last one on last fall and its all ready gone bad. Thanks, Chris.
I have found over the years that the OE clutches work best. I have tried the different aftermarket ones on numerous applications and ended up going back to OE. My . 02.
My stock one went out at about 180k, Put in a NAPA and it lasted about 190K. Got caught out in the middle of west Texas when it went out and got one from the Amarillo STEALER for only 189 plus Uncle Sam. It's cycling now way too much with only about 30k on it. Would love to take it to the parts guy in Amarillo and thank him for the "I'm broke down and need a kin-folk deal". JMHO
Weather down here in Bayou country does tend to test 'em.
The replacement for mine required a new fan due to an update, hence the NAPA. I get a discount from both places but I usually try to use DC parts for most stuff.
I picked up my fan clutch today, parts guy seemed to think I needed a new fan to go with the new clutch as it had an updated part #, not so, the new fan had the same part # as the one off my 96.
I had to replace my fan last fall when one of the blades came off and went through my radiator:--) , with a bad clutch the A/C will not cool down at idle.
