Truck (purchased used) has some frayed wires on the drivers side of the radiator connecting to the fan clutch, however there appears to be a connector at this point as well where the splice was done.

Question is, does the fan clutch connect at the drivers side of the radiator then use a jumper to the connect to the main harness at the bottom of the radiator or is there just one connector that should run from the fan clutch to the harness. A look through the 2004 parts guide reveals no solid results.

I have an 03. 5 and there is only a connector at the lower right of my radiator and the harness goes to the fan clutch. I have no extra wire down there. I wonder if this was someones fix for a P0480 or P0483 code? I had a P0483 code this summer that has never returned. The rtuck was running hot only when towing so I am going to change out the fan clutch anyway.

Thanks Dave, that was my suspicion, this truck has been a joy of issue after issue and I currently have a soft p0480 that won't clear, was apparent this weekend when I was towing my 37' fifth wheel up a grade. On to replacing the fan clutch after I deal with the clutch that I blew on the way home!

On a brighter note, hopefully by the time I'm done there won't be anything left to break!

Try the SBC DD 3250, with the weight I suspect your pulling, that 37' 5ver must be a combined weight of around 23-24K. And welcome to TDR, BTW slow down the turbo its hard on the eyes. :-laf:-laf:-laf
