I appreciate the advice about lowering the tank and dropping the driveline. I'll check it out tommorrow.

Keep trying. You just have to pinch the two "ears" on either side of the clip and lightly pull. Once you get the two sides of the clip pushed in, the fititng will com e off.
Just pull off the line, leave the clip on the tank fitting.

That is important to remeber, hence I typed it twice.
After I got the line off, I took the ears on the clip and folded tham all the way over towards the exit of the fuel line from teh tank, and then the clip cam off very easily.
Make it a 2 step process:
1) Remove line form the tank by depressing either side of the clip, leaving cip on the tank for now.
2) Flip the ears on the clip all the way over towards the tire and remove clip from the fuel pickup fitting.
Keep trying, and beer helps, too.
